Dinas 1st's faced Tondu 2nd's at Bryn Y Don hoping to build on last week's win against Barry Athletic.

Such hopes looked unlikely as the Tondu openers compiled a 1st wicket partnership of 180 in 30 overs.

Tondu eventually finished on 278/3, a fine batting performance aided by below par fielding and catching from Dinas.

Gihan Fernando took 2 wickets and Stuart Jones the other, with a catch for Bryn Fogden and a catch and a stumping for Gordon Hannah.

Dinas started well against a good opening attack and were 51/1 off 10, but wickets fell regularly to leave the familiar position of only having batting points to play for.

Fogden, Alex Vowles and Reuben Mitchell managed to get the final total to 209/8 as Tondu cruised to victory.

The 2nd's travelled to Ton Pentre to play their 1sts.

Ton batted first and scored 199-8 in their 40 overs. In response, Dinas got to 160-3 in their 40 falling 40 short of victory.

Ponthir 2's edged to victory despite a valiant effort from the 3's. Batting forst Ponthir scored 169-8 with 4 wickets for N Preece, and a couple for Rhys Bradley.

In response, the in-form Andy Hurly hit 46, but no one was really able to stay with him, although skipper Gareth Storey nurdled his way to 16.

Young Olly Hurley followed in his Dad's example, and scored a valiant 35 lower down the order, but in the end Ponthir's total proved too much as Dinas were bowled out for 151 in 38.2 overs, losing by 18 runs.
