There's a variety of events being staged in the Penarth area over the coming weekend and we are pleased to highlight some of them in this feature.

If you have a local event happening soon, you can 'nub it' for FREE in the What's On section of our website!

Every Thursday we will now bring you our top event picks - if you have an event happening in the town you want our readers to see, just click the black 'Nub It' button here to add your event for free.

A major event taking place over three days is at Dinas Powys Parish Hall where the White Cat Theatre is presenting The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde.

His most renowned work  is a satire of Victorian social hypocrisy and the witty play is considered Wilde's greatest dramatic achievement.

Literary works will also be a subject for entertainment at the Turner House gallery this evening  where Griffin Books are hosting the launch of 'Paris Requiem' by Penarth-based author Chris Lloyd.

And on a further literary theme, if words are your thing, why not check out a collage poetry workshop – also at the Turner House Gallery - on Saturday. Learn about the event and book free tickets for the event via our story.

Also on Saturday  a celebration of food, growing and community action will take place at Trinity Methodist Church when Penarth growers reflect on a year of success.
