Friday morning: Laughter Yoga Class

Laughter Yoga is a unique form of exercise that involves unconditional laughter, breathing and youthful playfulness and it produces significant positive effects on your health, your happiness levels and your feeling of being socially connected to others. If you, or someone you know, could do with a little bit of laughter and happiness in your life with like-minded people, please come along. You don't need any prior experience nor do you need to bring a yoga mat as there is no actual 'yoga' involved in the traditional sense. Just come with an open mind and a willingness to laugh. Penarth Laughter Yoga runs every Friday at 11.30 for one-hour at All Saints Church LESSER Community Hall (that's the small one), Victoria Square, Penarth CF64 3EH Pre-booking (and pre-payment) is essential via www.getfitgoodfit.co.uk and it costs just £2 per person. [H3]Saturday morning (10:00 – 12:00): Seed & Plant Exchange

As part of the Food Vale Festival this year, we are delighted to have teamed up with Friends of Victoria Square to bring you a Seed & Plant Exchange at Victoria Square, Penarth.

Saturday, March 19 from 10:00 – 12:00.

Bring your surplus seeds, plants, and house plants to swap! The seed and plant exchange will be in the Lesser Hall.

On the Square, there will be other activities, including:

Seed Sowing Workshop, open to all, from 10:00.

In the community garden area by the main entrance to the Church. Hosted by the Friends of Victoria Square group, you'll learn how to successfully sow seeds and be able to access information on the website about how to tend to them on your windowsill, or other growing space.

The Friends invite you to take pots away to germinate on your windowsills and return some of the seedlings for a plant sale at The Square in May.

From around 11:00, you can enjoy a coffee, cookie and conversation with Piotr and his Stol Coffee bike.

At 11;00, there will be a guided walk around the square to view all the work that has been carried out by the Friends of Victoria Square group.

There will also be a plant fair with a selection of plants available to buy for a donation (cash only).

Friday, Saturday and Sunday (10:00 – 16:30): Inside Out: Photography by Anthony & Simon Campbell

An exhibition showcasing a range of photography from two brothers who grew up in Tiger Bay. Simon and Anthony Campbell, who lived in the area formerly known as Tiger Bay, shot images of day-to-day life as well as big events in the community and a selection of their work Work spans a period from the 1970s to the 1990s and people depicted are local characters, family and friends that are named in the captions as you make your way from one photograph to the next. The exhibition is free and will be shown from February 24 to March 20. Learn more here

Saturday morning (10:00 – 13:00): Cake & Book Sale at Penarth Library

The Friends of Penarth Library will be holding a Cake & Book Sale at the library on Saturday, March 19.

It will take place between 10:00 and 13:00 and all proceeds will go to support the library.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Dinas Powys Art Group Exhibition at the Penarth Pier Pavilion

Throughout March, Dinas Powys Art Group are showcasing their creative talents at Penarth Pier Pavilion.

A multitude of styles, techniques, mediums and subject matters will be on display. You will be amazed! A group of 30 local amateur artists who love to paint, draw, cut, stick, splash and generally have fun together experimenting with paint.

We produce very diverse original artworks of varying styles and sizes, using a multitude of techniques and artistic media. Our pieces range from representational to very abstract, from portraits to flowers, from landscapes to seascapes.

We use pastels, oils, watercolours, acrylics, inks, crayons, charcoal, pens, and all sorts of things to collage with. There will be something for everyone at this free exhibition taking place at Penarth Pier Pavilion.
