Friday morning: Laughter Yoga Class

Laughter Yoga is a unique form of exercise that involves unconditional laughter, breathing and youthful playfulness and it produces significant positive effects on your health, your happiness levels and your feeling of being socially connected to others.

If you, or someone you know, could do with a little bit of laughter and happiness in your life with like-minded people, please come along.

You don't need any prior experience nor do you need to bring a yoga mat as there is no actual 'yoga' involved in the traditional sense. Just come with an open mind and a willingness to laugh.

Penarth Laughter Yoga runs every Friday at 11.30 for one-hour at All Saints Church LESSER Community Hall (that's the small one), Victoria Square, Penarth CF64 3EH

Pre-booking (and pre-payment) is essential via www.getfitgoodfit.co.uk and it costs just £2 per person. Suitable for any age from 14+, though minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Visit the Facebook page for more info.

[H3]Friday afternoon: Café Concert at Penarth Pier Pavilion Join us for a delightful afternoon of music at Penarth Pier Pavilion's monthly afternoon cafe concert! Penarth Pier Pavilion is delighted to welcome the Cynefin Trio for the first in the Pavilion's series of monthly café concerts, showcasing the talents of local musicians. The Cynefin Trio is led by James Bessant-Davies, principal clarinetist of Cardiff University's Orchestra, and James will be joined by Laurie Rich on piano and Lily Rayner on cello. The beautiful Gallery at Penarth Pier Pavilion is the setting for the cafe concert and guests are free to enjoy a stroll along the Pier before and after the concert. Guests will be greeted with tea and homemade cake on arrival before settling down to enjoy a programme of classical and light music from Wales and the European tradition including a magical romantic trio by Brahms described as the most exquisite chamber setting for the clarinet after Mozart. Come and enjoy this wonderful music and sparkling players in a relaxed, informal setting at Penarth Pier Pavilion. Tickets are £7.25 per person, plus a booking fee and can be purchased here.

Sunday: Get Out! Mindfulness Retreat Day

A day out in nature with like-minded people will help you to slow down, reconnect with yourself and take a break from demanding everyday life.

I am Lene, co-founder of Dawnstalkers and founder of the Get Out! Mindfulness Retreat Days.

I moved to Penarth in August 2020 and watching our Dawnstalkers Community grow over the last year inspired me to now fully concentrate on helping people reconnect with themselves.

I take a group of six to eight people out on a led group hike and guide several meditations and mindfulness exercises along the way. We will also go for a cold water dip in a lake - the best way to put aside all your thoughts and just be in the moment.

As the retreat day is guided and planned, you don't have to think about anything for that day, all you have to do is allow yourself to take a day off and sign up. Then you just come along and enjoy the peace.

You will come back home into real life, feeling energised and nourished, ready to tackle the next days and weeks with a positive mindset
