The Met Office has issued a "yellow warning of rain" for Penarth for Friday and the weekend.

Residents should expect "persistent and at times heavy rain which may result in flooding and disruption to transport and utilities."

According to the weather service:

- Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely

- Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer

- Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer

- Some interruptions to power supplies and other services are possible

This comes almost two months after much of the peripheral areas around Penarth were severely flooded two days before Christmas.
