Managing water and ensuring the future of your garden will be the topic at a workshop in Penarth this week.

The latest monthly workshop run by the Penarth Growing Community will take place on Saturday (27 August) from 10am to 1pm at The Kymin, on Beach Road, Penarth.

It will explore managing water wisely, future-proofing your garden to make it resilient in the face of weather extremes and climate change.

Experts will speak about drought tolerant plants, making hugelculture (traditional way of building a garden bed from rotten logs and plant debris) and raised beds, managing water in the garden, ways to save water and rain gardens.

The workshop is being delivered as part of the community's 'Grow Food Eat Well' monthly sessions, which explore all aspects of local food, food growing and climate action.

Admission is free, although donations are welcome. Tickets will be required and can be obtained via this link.

Penarth Growing Community is a Gwyrddio Penarth Greening (GPG) project that developed from a community-wide event held in January 2020 to gather ideas on how Penarth could take action locally to tackle the climate and nature crises.
