VALE 50+ Strategy Forum held a great open day recently.

The Strategy Forum, works to support and champion the needs of those aged 50 and over in the Vale and across Wales.

There was a range of local organisations and community groups, including Age Connects, Hourglass, Penarth Young at Heart, Value in the Vale, Deafblind UK, Vale Learning Centre, Valeways, and more.

Councillor Malcolm Phillips and Chris Franks attended and discussed with Sean Quinn of Hourglass the dangers of people taking advantage of the vulnerable elderly. The helpline is 0808 808 8141

The guest speaker was Chrisy of Home Instead, who spoke about the importance of staying connected and the difference this can make to health and wellbeing.
