Club courts new members

PENARTH'S thriving town centre tennis club is throwing its doors open for new members for the first time in four years.
The busy 800-member Penarth Lawn Tennis Club hasn't had space for new adult full paying members since 2022 but now has a small number of slots available.
The club, in alexandra Park, is also continuing to offer junior memberships from as little as £5 for a full year.
"It's great to be able to welcome new members to our tennis and social community." said Rob Cunningham, PLTC Head Coach.
"We have always had off peak memberships on offer. But if you want to play on busy weekday evenings, this is your chance."
The club offers a full range of tennis activities – from junior and adult beginners coaching through to men's, ladies and mixed team tennis. Several teams have won their leagues over the winter season.
The club also offers a busy social calendar. There is social tennis and every Friday, when volunteers provide food and serve drinks from the popular bar. The club is often busy on Saturdays too – whether it is a live band or one of our winter quiz nights.
"With the weather getting better we'll be opening up the outside bar so people can enjoy a drink in the garden after a game. When the weather is good, we often have a barbeque too," Rob added.
"People who join before Monday can join our Bank Holiday all-abilities mix-in tournament, the Prosecco Cup. "It's a perfect opportunity to play against a range of different people and to meet everyone at the club. By all-abilities we really do mean everyone is welcome!"
