Casting a vote for nature on election day, vocal ensemble Spectrum Singers will perform a dusk chorus to celebrate Arcot Triangle's recent Green Flag Community Award.

The chamber choir rehearses at St Paul's Community Centre overlooking the Arcot Triangle every Thursday evening but will move outdoors on 4 July from 7.45pm to 8pm to highlight the importance of urban greenspaces with a selection of songs about birds.

Posting on Facebook, Friends of Arcot Triangle said: 'Well done to everyone who has contributed to the garden over the last 7 years and transformed it from a dark, overgrown and unloved space into a lovely garden full of interest and colour.'

Parks and gardens are vital refuges for the UK's native biodiversity. It is concern for the rapid disappearance of bird species that has inspired Spectrum Singers' next concert programme: 'Hope is the Thing with Feathers' on Friday 11 October 2024.
