Penarth amateur theatre group set to return with The Full Monty musical
The Penarth Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS) will finally be performing The Full Monty at The Paget Rooms after postponing the show two years ago due to COVID-19.
Based on the hit film of the same name, The Full Monty is filled with honest affection, engaging songs and the most highly anticipated closing number of any show.
While spying on their wives at a "girls' night out", a group of unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo, New York sees how much they enjoy watching male strippers.
Jealous, out of work and feeling emasculated, the men come up with a bold way to make some quick cash by forming their own act – a team of male strippers with "real man" bodies.
In preparing for their show, they find themselves extremely exposed, not only physically but emotionally. As they conquer their fears, self-consciousness and prejudices, the men come to discover they're stronger as a group and the strength they find in each other gives them the individual courage to "let it go".
The Full Monty is a story full of heart. With a raucous mix of razor-sharp humour and toe-tapping pizzazz, this heartwarming, upbeat comedy is a must-see. The Full Monty is on at The Paget Rooms in Penarth from Wednesday, May 18 to Saturday, May 21 at 19:30.
Tickets are £14.00 and you can book online now.
