The 'Knit-a-Rainbow' campaign in Penarth has almost reached the end of its trail and the local resident behind the project is coordinating the final stretch and raising money for charity.

Christine Kerr and a group of volunteers have been busy knitting a rainbow all the way from Dingle Park in Penarth to Llandough Hospital in an attempt to raise money and show support for the NHS and frontline workers.

The project has been very successful so far and the group are at their last hurdle as they head up Penlan Road.

Nub News has been following her journey from the start and you can read about how it all got started in our original piece here.

There have been some challenges with bad weather and a couple being ripped down but the team have persevered.

Christine Kerr said: ''We're knitting about 2 metres a day and post on Facebook daily with photos and also a positive song of the day.

''I have a Just Giving Page which explains that I'm knitting for the Cardiff and Vale Health Board.

''I know times are tough financially but if you see my rainbow grow please donate what you can afford to help Cardiff and Vale University Health Board."

She is currently on £645 and would love to raise £1000.
