A poster in the Crazy Cafe outlining plans for a reopening under new management stirred up a lot of interest after being circulated on social media.

Nub News investigated the claims to find out what is happening to the closed cafe on Penarth Esplanade.

The poster states: ''At last the Crazy Cafe will reopen within a few weeks with a new tenant who operates a very successful restaurant operation in Penarth.

''This is indeed good news for people in Penarth and the customers who came from far and wide to enjoy the Crazy Cafe experience.

''We have received a great number of complaints concerning the last occupiers and we are confident in our choice of tenant so we hope you will come back and enjoy yourselves at the Crazy Cafe.''

Nub News contacted Huw Pickford, who manages the Galley at Penarth Yacht Club, who was rumoured to be taking over the management of the Crazy Cafe.

He confirmed that he and his wife Jeanne Owens Pickford will be taking over the business. He said, ''We are aiming to open on the 1st December but will keep people updated.''

On Facebook he stated: ''After 9 successful years at the Penarth Yacht Club my wife Jeanne Owens Pickford and I have decided to start a new venture together and to take over the premises of the 'Crazy Cafe' on the Seafront.

We're looking forward to offering our customers the same great service and award-winning food as my team and I have been known for over the years.''

The Crazy Cafe had a lot of complaints when it was previously open due to poor management and the hopes are the new tenants will turn this around.

Penarth Nub News will provide further updates as they come.
