Penarth Ministry Area is holding its annual Spring Plant & Cake sale on Saturday, 1 April 10am-12noon at St Augustine's Church, Church Place South, Penarth.

There will be lots on offer, including annuals, shrubs, perennials, houseplants, veg seedlings and some fruit bush offsets. Most things are home grown.

There will also be home-made cakes and tea & coffee to buy.

Organiser Rachel Elder said "We've been busy growing over the last few months, so we hope to see lots of people come for some garden bargains and snap up the delicious cakes. Last year we raised over £500, so we hope to do just as well.

"If anyone would like to donate plants for the sale, we'll gratefully accept them – bring them 9-10am to the church."

Everyone is welcome to this free event – come and see the daffodils and spring flowers or enjoy the great views.

Proceeds will go towards looking after the five churches in the Ministry Area around Penarth and Llandough, cash and card payments will be accepted.
