The whole of Year Six in Dinas Powys Primary School has been instructed to self-isolate after a coronavirus case was reported within the year group.
The children, who may have come into contact with a child who recently tested positive, will have to self-isolate for 14 days, after only returning to school last week.
Distance-learning procedures are being put in place. The case was reportedly identified by the test, trace and protect system.
At the time of writing, at least seven schools have been hit by the virus.
Nub News has spoken with Vale of Glamorgan Council Executive Leader Neil Moore who said:
"It is something that wasn't unexpected and we had plans in place for this eventuality. It has happened in a year group in Dinas Powys and as a result of that we have asked that year group to isolate for 14 days. We have carried out deep cleans in those particularly areas in the school and we are working closely with the schools on a local and regular basis and utilising our test, trace and protect system."
"This is a stark warning to everybody. It has not gone away."
