“Slapstick Oscar Wilde” comes to Dinas Powys this April

FOLLOWING their successful production of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night", White Cat Theatre is returning to Dinas Powys this April with Brandon Thomas' Victorian comedy "Charley's Aunt".
Two Oxford undergraduates, Jack and Charley, desperately want to propose to their sweethearts before they head off to Scotland for the Summer. Fortunately, Charley's very rich aunt is visiting him from Brazil and can act as chaperone.
However, at the last minute Charley's Aunt suddenly can't make it. The boys are forced to take drastic action with hilarious consequences.
Joining White Cat Theatre for the first time, experienced director Robert Gairey said: "Brandon Thomas' 'Charley's Aunt' is very much a slapstick version of Oscar Wilde's 'Importance of Being Earnest' but is still full of witty dialogue that audiences love.
"The cast are working very hard on the required physical comedy for the show, bringing the characters to life. It really is a laugh a minute and I can't wait for people to see what this talented cast and crew have been up to."
Tickets can be bought online at www.WhiteCatTheatre.Cymru, by calling the booking hotline on 0333 666 3366 or on the door - cash and card accepted.
Doors open at 7pm with the show starting at 7.30pm.
A bar will be operating before the show and in the intervals selling beers, wine, soft drinks, crisps and sweets. There will be two short intervals with the show finishing around 10pm.
White Cat Theatre's previous productions include "Art" by Yasmina Reza, "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde, "Death in Character" by Stuart Ardern, Shakespeare's "Merry Wives of Windsor" adapted by Flora Freeman, Noël Coward's "Blithe Spirit", "The War of the Worlds" and Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" adapted by Flora Freeman.
