The Welsh parliament, Senedd, is to investigate closure of Health Centre in Penarth

The petitions committee of the Senedd has agreed to write to the community health council and to the health board regarding the closure of the GP surgery in the Penarth area.

This resulted in around 1,200 additional patients using the Dinas Powys Medical Centre.

Senedd member Luke Fletcher said: "I think one thing we could do is write to the community health council, as a starting point, to see what they're monitoring of the patient experience as uncovered. We could also, I think, write to the health board as well to see what they're doing to resolve the current situation and to relieve some of the pressures on that particular area."
