RNLI Penarth Warn Residents of Vehicle Warning Lights After Shout Out

The RNLI in Penarth are appealing to residents after a number of drivers ignored the boat launching light signals.

Andy Berry said "After today's shout we are making a direct appeal to motorists not to ignore the wig-wag lights as we launch.

"Two drivers ignored the lights today. Motorists going through the lights endangered themselves and put the crew at risk, and could have delayed our response.

"Please stop when you see the lights working."

Motorists breaking the rules could face a fine, points on their licence, a court appearance or be required to attend a red-light training course.

RNLI Penarth were tasked shortly after 5pm, Saturday 17th August, to assist Barry RNLI who were towing a yacht with power failure to Cardiff Bay.

It was quick job for the team, guiding the yacht in to the safety of the barrage.
