Households can subscribe to the Vale of Glamorgan Council's 2024/2025 garden waste collection service before it launches on 4 March 2024.

Residents can make a one-off payment to receive fortnightly garden waste collections between March and November 2024 and book winter collections between December 2024 and February 2025.

The Council is charging either £36 per year for up to eight bags per collection, or £54 per year for more than eight bags per collection.

While the pricing structure remains the same as last year, this year's pricing reflects a longer service length than last year.

Households will also have the option to subscribe for a half-year service at half the cost from August.

Residents can either subscribe via the Council's website www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/gardenwaste or call 01446 729566.

Residents who choose not to subscribe to the service can still take their garden waste to a Household Waste Recycling Centre for free or compost it at home.

Cllr Mark Wilson (pictured) , Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services and Transport, said: "After a successful first six months, we are preparing to roll out our first full-year subscription service.

"Due to budget pressures, we launched the paid-for garden waste subscription service in July last year - now, only those who use the service pay for it.

"We do not have to offer garden waste collections by law and so I'm pleased that we are able to continue to offer the much-valued service to our residents."
