New Penarth artist, Corinna Nicoll, is displaying her lockdown artwork in the back café room at Foxy's Deli from 17th May until mid June, and in Curves Gym on a continuous basis.

They are for sale to those in the market for artistic impressions of Penarth and the surrounding area.

Corinna, a business owner in the town for over 10 years, returned to her love of painting during the lockdowns of 20/21 when she was unable to work as a reflexologist.

Over that time, she painted more than 40 pieces, some of which have sold, and some which were commissioned.

Now that lockdown restrictions are lifting, Corinna is able to display twenty paintings at Foxy's and four others in Curves Gym, where she regularly attends.

Corinna said, "I'm so excited to be able to show my paintings from the last year in Penarth.

"The lockdowns were very long but painting really gave me a focus and kept me positive when I couldn't work.

"Many of the paintings are of views I saw on my lockdown walks, so the scenes are very local and familiar.

"Many have been shown on social media, but I really hope that local people enjoy seeing them in the flesh."

Sian Fox, from Foxy's Deli commented, "I found Corinna on Instagram and really liked her work, so thought it would be great to hold an exhibition in time for our indoor reopening on May 17th."

Curves Gym owner Rachael said, "Corinna did a beautiful yoga painting of me which is displayed alongside three others. The paintings look lovely in our gym!"

Corinna is now back at work as a reflexologist, but she is still continuing to paint alongside this.
