On Saturday, 9 September, Penarth Ministry Area will be having another Plant Sale at St Augustine's Church. They will have plants to put in now for flowers next year and plants to cheer your home & garden through the winter.

Organisers also want to challenge Penarth gardeners to have a go at growing a giant echium and will have over 100 Echium Pininana seedlings for sale.

If you look after them over winter, they will reward you next year with a spectacular flower spike up to 12ft tall!

Growing information will be provided to help. Organiser Rachel Elder said "Echiums love our mild climate and, when they flower, will be covered in bees and other pollinators. I hope everyone who comes to the sale will buy one or two and have a go. Prices are just £1 or £2 each."

There will be a Seed Exchange too, so take along those unused packets of seeds you've got and swap them for something new. The seeds will be free, with a voluntary donation box.

Refreshments and cakes will also be on sale, so everyone if welcome, even if you're not a gardener, have a coffee and see the views over Cardiff Bay. Proceeds will go to Ministry Area Funds.
