The popular local Railway pub and hotel has closed its doors for the month of January so that refurbishments can take place.

After a busy festive period the local announced that they had handed their keys over.

Nub News contacted the manager Tom Galloway to find out what changes were going to be made during renovations and when residents could return.

He said: "We will be re-opening on Saturday Febuary 1st in time for the start of the six nations, with live music in the evening from The Styles.

"Aside from giving the pub a much needed makeover, the toilets will be getting completely re-installed along with out new extended open kitchen.

"All our sports screens will finally be HD once we re-open too."
