Penarth's Pier 64 Restaurant Has Closed Down

Pier 64 has closed its doors after the company behind the restaurant ceased trading on the 9th of March.

Sansemea (UK) Limited, the company behind the Pier 64 restaurant, ceased trading on 9 March 2020, with all 21 employees being made redundant.

Begbies Traynor, insolvency and business recovery specialists, has been engaged to commence liquidation proceedings.

Refurbishment reports were discussed on social media amidst other speculation.

Commenting, Huw Powell, partner at Begbies Traynor in South Wales, said: "In a difficult climate for leisure businesses, with high levels of competition, the company has ceased trading following losses suffered during a challenging first year."

''Sansemea (UK) Limited agreed a lease for the Penarth Marina premises in January 2019.''
