High Tides at Penarth Esplanade During Flood Warnings

By The Editor

12th Mar 2020 | Local News

Penarth had some pretty dramatic tide heights this morning with the peak reaching 12.95m. Nub News ventured down to get some footage of the event.

The tide had pushed water over onto the street but luckily due to a pretty calm day, weather-wise, the damage was not too severe.

Pedestrians should remain cautious at peak tide times as the paths have become slippery and large waves can drag you off your feet.

Natural Resources Wales has removed the flood warning in place for the Penarth Coast so businesses and residents should remain vigilant but the situation is improving.

The next high tide will be at 9:18 pm today.

Some early risers will have woken up to hail and sleet this morning in Penarth as the temperamental weather continues.
