A Penarth surgery will close next year, after being told to leave its premises.
The Albert Road Surgery has been asked by their landlord to vacate their building by 1 April 2022.
Doctors said they have been left with no choice but to hand back their GMS contract to the local health board.
The practice will end its services on Friday 18 March 2022, almost a fortnight before the deadline.
Two years ago, the practice was earmarked to change into a 'wellbeing hub' at Penarth Leisure Centre, bringing together health services for eastern parts of the Vale, including Dinas Powys and Llandough.
Patients are to contact the health board or the community health council if they have any questions about the closure.
A spokesperson for Cardiff and Vale healthboard said they appreciated this closure will cause anxiety amongst patients and the local community.
"We are working closely with other practices in the area to find a solution to maintain services for the patients of Albert Road," said the spokesperson.
''Our focus is to ensure services are provided closer to home and together with our stakeholders we will establish a way forward to ensure future provision of GP services to all existing patients.''
''In the meantime, we will keep the local community updated with details of future provision as we work through a solution.''
''The health board would like to thank the community for their patience during this time and can reassure patients that we are committed to resolving this to meet the health care needs of the local population.''
