Sully Sailing Club is hosting a taster session on Saturday (May 7) with the hope of attracting more people to sailing.

The taster session will allow newbies to try out sailing for the first time with either a dinghy or catamaran and some of the club's members will be available to help on the boats.

Robin Wilkinson, 63, a member of Sully Sailing Club, said: "It's always good to have new people in the sport, especially youngsters. Keeps the more experienced members on their toes competitively!

"The session is to just let people have a go and experience what sailing is like, whether it be having a go at steering or adjusting the ropes. It'll be a very hands-on experience."

The session is free of charge and kids aged eight and over are welcome to attend. Attendees will need to be at Sully Sailing Club at 11:00 and the session is due to finish at 15:00.
