Refurbishment work has started today in the Glendale Hotel's restaurant and kitchen.

The Glendale is a popular eatery in Penarth which is well-known for its appearance in the hit TV series Gavin and Stacey.

The restaurant will be closed for a couple of weeks whilst these changes take place.

The bar will remain open during this period so customers can still pop in for a drink.

They updated customers on Facebook saying that they are in the process of creating a new villa Napoli design for the dining section.

There will be an official reopening which will be confirmed as work progressed, so residents can join the establishment for the unveiling of the new area.

They will be keeping customers updated on Facebook so keep an eye on their page by clicking the red button below this article.

They released a statement on Facebook to apologise for the closure. They said: ''Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. We can't wait to re open and welcome you all back.''

They follow in the footsteps of the railway pub, situated directly opposite the Glendale, which has closed for refurbishments too.
