Local Resident, Katie Edwards, is launching Penarth's Virtual Pub Quiz this evening on Facebook to entertain locals on their Friday night lockdown.

The community has been coming together with a wide variety of ideas to keep entertained and this one is sure to put a smile on your face.

Instead of hitting up the local pubs, quizzing will commence at 8 pm and the hopes are that it will be held every Friday.

The Facebook group explains what the event entails. It says:

How it works:

''Join the group and watch the live video of us doing a good old fashioned pub quiz but with a twist. We'll open the feed at 7.45 pm (come early and say hi) and we'll try and start as close to 8 pm as possible.

''It doesn't matter if you're late, join in anyway.

''We'll read the question out and the first people to comment on the video with the correct answer will win points. We'll tot up the points at the end of each round.

''Winners will win great respect from the community of Penarth (and if this is successful I may try and organise prizes at some point).

''So get comfortable, have your tipple of choice at the ready and join us for (hopefully) a fun evening.

  • Points*

• 1st team to answer correctly gets 3 points

• 2nd team gets 2 points

• 3rd team gets 1 point

''Humorous team names highly encouraged. Please invite friends, the more the merrier.''

Penarth Nub News spoke to Katie Edwards about how the idea was created. She said: ''My neighbour said someone in her home village had done a pub quiz by posting it through peoples doors.

''I thought that doing a virtual one would be more sanitary. I am pretty nervous about it as I'd just thought it would be my friends. Fingers crossed it goes well.''
