Penarth Pier has reopened to local residents with a one-way system after a long period of closure over the coronavirus pandemic.

This comes alongside the announcement of the car park and public toilet reopenings in Cosmeston and other council-owned spaces.

A tweet by social media group Penarth People gained a lot of traction after they suggested that the Pier should reopen with a one-way system, allowing pedestrians to safely walk across it and businesses along there to reopen.

A one-way system is now in place so pedestrians can enjoy the boardwalks and access to the Pier, which recently marked its [Lhttps://penarth.nub.news/n/penarth-pier39s-125th-anniversary-celebrated-behind-closed-doors[L+]125th anniversary[.L] with no visitors due to the pandemic.

Signs, like the ones pictured above, help residents to follow the rules.
