Police, Coastguard and RNLI called to retrieve man in the water off Pier
Emergency services have come to the aid of a man standing in the water off Penarth Pier in what one witness described as a "shocking" incident.
According to a number of witnesses, the man was standing in the water for roughly 20 minutes before police arrived.
They proceeded to take him out of the water onto the cement girders of the Pier before lifting him onto the deck using a lifebuoy.
It must be among the most widespread and harmful conditions you've never heard of - Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is thought to affect one in 20 women.
Of this high number, survey data suggests 30% have attempted suicide. Far more (perhaps 50%) have contemplated taking this unthinkable action.
Sadly, Penarth's Lacey-Beth Lloyd falls into this latter category.
"It is a severe negative reaction in the brain to how your body copes with the fluctuation of the hormones oestrogen and progesterone between a week and two weeks before your period," she explains.
Cycling eight-year-old delivers nearly 150 Easter eggs to vulnerable residents
Joseph Powell, an eight-year-old from Sully, delivered 147 Easter eggs to vulnerable elderly people over the long weekend.
He did so after raising £435 by cycling three miles a day for 10 days straight.
Four care homes in Cardiff and Penarth received the chocolaty goodies, as well as 15 Sully residents who had been shielding throughout the pandemic.
A proud and tired Joseph says he was motivated by watching a video of a homeless old person on YouTube.
Oystercatcher and Police agree on outside bar licensing conditions
The Oystercatcher pub on Terra Nova Way has agreed terms with South Wales Police with regard to licensing their planned outdoor bar.
The brewery Greene King, who own the pub, are planning to revamp the existing beer garden.
Cwm George and Casehill Woods meadows set to close for at least three months
The open meadow areas of Cwm George and Casehill Woods are set to be closed to visitors for a currently undetermined period beginning "towards the end of next week".
The Woodland Trust, the charity who own the Site of Special Scientific Interest, say they have been forced to take action due to the trampling and widening of paths following a period of increased footfall.
"It was so surreal" - The fence post that caused a Sully bomb scare
A resident on South Road, Sully (who wishes to remain anonymous) was out gardening on sunny Good Friday when she found it... a large metal object embedded in the soil.
Protruding from her flower bed was a rusted metal rim from which four ridges extended.
She thought it looked suspicious. Looking at the pictures, you can see why.
