A group of local musicians have organised a music festival and family fun day to raise money for the Ukraine crisis.

Dinas Powys 4 Ukraine, a free event to be held on May 1 at Dinas Powys Rugby Club, is being organised by Ailsa Enos, Katrina Dimech and Andrew Smith, with the help of Marina Walker, and Kay Brinkworth.

Ailsa, Katrina, and Andrew met through their love of music and often perform with each other at various local open mic events.

After watching the devastating events unfold in Ukraine, the trio came up with the idea of a festival fundraiser with local bands donating their time and talent to the cause.

Together they have planned a fun-packed family fun day with a range of activities including a raffle, live auction, a boot sale, glitter tattoos, a dog show, and hair braiding.

Butty Bach will be at the fundraiser with a food van and an ice cream van will be provided by Super Ices.

Other musicians set to perform at the fundraiser include Ray Dodds, Long Shadows, Rockabilly Paul, Bean and Andy, Dave Lee Jones and The Unexpected.

For those who can't attend but would still like to contribute to the cause, you can do so by donating to the group's JustGiving page.
