Penarth: Injured person rescued from Flat Holm Island off Lavernock Point

An injured person was rescued from Flat Holm Island yesterday afternoon (June 26). 

Barry Dock RNLI was called and two volunteer crew members attended to the casualty. The person was taken aboard the lifeboat and taken to the mainland for medical attention.  

A Maritime and Coastguard Agency spokesperson said: "At approx. 16:30 yesterday (June 26), HM Coastguard was alerted to reports of an injured person on Flat Holm Island.  

"Barry Dock RNLI lifeboat and Portishead Coastguard Rescue Team were sent. The casualty was taken to Portishead Marina by the lifeboat and met by the Portishead team for onward travel to hospital."
