Penarth Healthcare Partnership Becomes a Training Practice

Penarth Healthcare Partnership has announced that they have been awarded a training practice status.
A GP Registrar or GP trainee is a qualified doctor who is training to become a GP through a period of working and training in a practice.
They will usually have spent at least two years working in a hospital before you see them in a practice and are closely supervised by a senior GP or trainer
PHP said: ''We are proud to announce that we have been made a training practice.
"Today we welcome our first 2 GP registrars, Drs Hussain and Herbert, they will be spending the next 6 months working and learning with us.
"Thank you to Dr Clark and Dr Shan for their hard work in making this happen."
As a teaching practice, patients may also meet medical students in the surgery or accompanying the doctor on their calls.

Penarth Healthcare Partnership is a merger of two existing surgeries in the town.
When this merger was completed two partners and one salaried GP were recruited.
All three GPs sighted the opportunity of working in a large practice, the potential of an MDT approach, and the practice being a GP training practice and undergraduate teaching centre of excellence as a few of the reasons they were attracted to the role.
