Electrical appliance shop Kitchener & Thomas on Windsor Road has announced it will close after 50 years of trading.

The store, which partnered with electrical retailer Euronics to sell appliances at competitive prices, will shut shop after a closing-down sale.

In a post on its Facebook page, the team said: "To all our customers old and new after much consideration, it is with great sadness that due to retirement and unforeseen circumstances Kitchener & Thomas will be closing its business.

"We will be having a closing down sale with great discounts off all remaining stock. We hope you come and take advantage of these savings.

"We would like to say thank you for your custom and many continued friendships over the last 50 years.

"Kind Regards, Dave and the Team."

The closure of Kitchener & Thomas comes after NatWest announced it will be closing its Plymouth Road branch in September
