How many people in Penarth have died due to COVID-19?

The latest figures for the number of people who have died due to COVID-19 in Penarth have been published.

They reveal that 65 people in the area have fallen victim to the disease between March 2020 and January 2021.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), 17 of these people died in January, making last month the deadliest in Penarth since the pandemic began.

These figures cover the Middle Layer Super Output Areas (MSOAs) of Penarth Town, Llandough and Cogan, and Lower Penarth and Sully.

Twenty-two people have died in Penarth Town, 23 in Llandough and Cogan, and 20 in Lower Penarth and Sully.

Ten have died in nearby Dinas Powys.

No one in and around the town died between July and October, according to the statistics.
