The Vale council has asked residents to stay vigilant after reports of a cost of living support payment phone scam. 

On social media today (July 1), the council has reiterated that it will not request bank details and will only make contact with residents if there are any issues with applications.  

After the council leader, Cllr Lis Burnett, made an apology via social media regarding the time it's taken to send the £150 payments, the council has now issued another update on the payment distribution.  

According to a Facebook post on the Vale of Glamorgan Council's page on June 30, 21,000 payments have been sent to 33,000 eligible households. 

Letters are still being sent in the post and everyone should receive this by July 10. It can take up to ten working days for the payment to arrive in your bank account.
