As of the 20th March, the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan University Health Board have asked all Penarth community pharmacies to continue operation, but close their doors to the public, between the hours of 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm each day.

In this difficult time, demand on community pharmacy is exceptionally high.

Pharmacy teams are working hard in a challenging situation to supply patients with vital medication.

They need space during the day to catch up, order and dispense medication with as little distraction as possible.

CAVUHB said: ''We appreciate this decision will be inconvenient for some, but it is a much-needed step to allow the safe and continued supply of medicines for their patients and we will continue to work with health boards across Wales and Welsh Government to communicate this message to the public and our primary care community.''
