The Penarth community has been working together in a variety of ways to combat the effects of the coronavirus and to help those in the community who have become vulnerable or have had to self-isolate.
Helping Hands Penarth was created by local residents to engage with each other and offer or request support.
They will be distributing postcards to local addresses that have been circulating on social media, which were created by a woman in Falmouth hoping to help her community out in a similar way.
It gives those who are self-isolating local contacts that can help when it is needed and a list of what they can ask for help with.
The activities of the group include but are and not limited to; collecting shopping; prescriptions checking on vulnerable people; walking dogs. The idea is to be supportive and assist where possible.
Penarth Town Council is also engaging with the social media group by helping to print leaflets."
The Sully Village Hub which is a very active community group on Facebook has also clubbed together in the wake of the virus and its effect on the local community.
Han Bevmoh, one of the admins of the group, said: ''I'm so proud of the way they've pulled together and am happy for you to quote me on that. I've never seen such a fast and positive reaction on the hub before.
''I was sent the leaflet idea on Friday night and posted on the hub to gauge the support, by Saturday morning Louise Morgan had printed off enough for the whole village, by Sunday morning I had enough volunteers to cover every home in Sully.
''Only leaflets for 3 streets are left to be collected from me and I think they'll be taken today.
''I've had calls from the neighbours, I delivered mine too, they were very pleased and reassured by them and many volunteers have had contact from similarly relieved people.
''We will all get through this together.''
You can access their public page here and contact the admin for information on how to get involved.
Llandough Community has a Facebook group which they are using to help those in their patch in similar ways. The break up of the groups makes it easier to organise volunteers and concentrate on areas that everyone can reach easily.
Local businesses have started up deliveries or are making them a lot easier for those that may not be able to leave their homes due to vulnerability or self-isolation. A list which will be updated regularly can be found below:
