Sunday afternoon saw the coastguards report to 3 children and a dog stuck in the mud off the RNLI Lifeboat Station with their flank team Chepstow coastguard.

On-scene all persons were out of the mud and the individuals were transiting through the mud to a small RHIB just off Penarth foreshore being advised by the coastguards.

The were very high and low tides over this weekend. Both the RNLI and coastguard sent out warnings about the unusual tides.

While on-scene at the previous incident a large object was sighted near the low water line in the direction of Lavernock Point.

Two coastguard officers were sent to investigate the object which turned out to be a 2m x 2m concrete block (pictured above) which is only visible at very low tide.
