Penarth Coastguard Called to a Large Group of Youths Tombstoning

Penarth Coastguard was called to an incident involving a large group of youths tombstoning in Cardiff Bay on Sunday evening.

They said: ''We were tasked to investigate a report of youths tombstoning & entering the water near Mount Stuart Pub (Graving Docks) Cardiff Bay.

''On location, 8 youths on bicycles leaving the area upon our arrival.

''Area searched, nothing found stood down returned to station.''

The coastguard team have always pointed out the danger of tombstoning. They explain: ''Swimming or jumping into this area is extremely dangerous and can cause loss of life or serious injury.''

It is also against current government regulations to gather in groups outside of your household.
