Penarth's Christmas Window Competition was officially launched at the switch on of the town lights on Sunday 17th November.

Independent shops and businesses, together with Penarth Library, are competing to see who will be declared as having the best dressed Christmas window for 2019.

Members of the public are invited to judge the windows and everyone taking part in the voting has the chance to win a hamper of goodies donated by the businesses taking part.

The competition is being organised by Shop Penarth, Penarth Traders Group, Penarth View Magazine and Penarth Town Council.

Peter Knowles from Shop Penarth said "It's brilliant to see traders coming together to make the town look extra special for Christmas.

''We hope that lots of people will help with the judging and call into all the shops to see just what an amazing choice Penarth has to offer."

Penarth View Magazine have produced a special voting form and map for people to use for the judging.

These can be picked up from any of the participating businesses and the map shows where in the town each of the windows in the competition are located.

Completed voting forms can be delivered in person to Penarth Town Council at West House on Stanwell Road or photographed and e-mailed to Shop Penarth.

Voting closes on Monday 9th December. Once all of the votes have been counted the voting voting forms will be entered into a prize draw and the lucky voter pulled out of the hat will win a hamper of goodies donated by the shops taking part in the competition.

Penarth has a superb range of independent shops and businesses and the Christmas Window Competition provides the perfect opportunity to discover the amazing range of products and services on offer in the town.
