Penarth businesswoman, Julie Plumb, was named the runner up of the Woman in STEM award at this year's Women's Business Conference & Awards held in Cheltenham.

Women's Business Club last week saw the annual Women's Business Conference & Awards take place at the historic Pittville Pump Room in Cheltenham.

These awards are the leading national awards honouring business women in their business achievements or career progression.

Women's Business Club founder and CEO, Angela De Souza said: "We were so proud to present Julie Plumb with this award. The award ceremony has really highlighted some of business's best entrepreneurs, and I'm honoured to have been part of such a rewarding day of networking, learning and development. It's always so uplifting seeing women rewarded for a job well done."

Julie said, "I am so thrilled to have been given this award. I have been a woman in STEM for over 30 years and I am honoured to be recognised for it."

Julie built one of the first 23,500 websites in the world, and to put that in context, there are now almost 2 million.

She has trail blazed the way for other women in what has long been a male dominated profession.

Julie has held many senior roles in financial services, manufacturing, hospitality and higher education.

She now runs her own digital agency, Plumb Digital, in Penarth which has been running for a year.
