From free drop-in sessions to weeklong sports camps, Vale of Glamorgan Council has arranged lots of activities for families and children to take part in this summer.

Working in partnership with organisations across the Vale, the Council's FIS team have put together a calendar of events suitable for children and young people up to the age of 25, alongside a number of family activities.

The Council's Libraries, Flying Start, and Healthy Living Teams are all offering a number of free events for children and teens to participate in during the school holidays.

These activities include free or low-cost craft and story events across all Vale libraries, as well as free football, dance, skateboarding, and paddle sport sessions throughout the Vale.

Other activities include music sessions, beach academy activities, and free play sessions across the Vale where play equipment is provided.

The Vale Youth Service will also be running several pop-up Youth Club sessions throughout the summer for both older children and young people up to the age of 25.

Cllr Gwyn John, Vale of Glamorgan Council Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport and Wellbeing, said: "The summer holidays can be a tough time for parents, especially during the current cost of living crisis - which is why it is more important than ever to provide children and young people with low-cost and free activities to enjoy.

"I hope that the FIS Summer Holiday Programme will help families find fun ways to spend their summer holidays."

The Summer 2023 Activities Programme will run throughout summer until 3 September .

You can find the full programme of events on the Council's website.
