Penarth resident, Owen James, has put together a compilation of drone footage for local residents to enjoy if they are self-isolating or cannot make it out to see the natural scenery around town.

Nub News spoke to Mr James about the footage and how he came to create the video.

He said: ''I live in Penarth, I work for a financial advice company. Usually, my work takes me all around the South of the UK. I tend to travel around 15,000 miles a year for work, so, switching to work from home has been a challenge for me.

''But, my friends and family all live in Penarth and, really, I couldn't be in a better place.''

The video's tagline summarises the reason behind its creation: 'For people who are self-isolating or can't get out, here is a video of some of Penarth.'

Owen said: ''My parents who are in their 60s and 70s are self-isolating. It's for people like that. It's such a nice place to live and I wanted to be able to show people what's out there, what they are missing.

''I like my holidays away. I've started watching travel blogs as a compensator. It's a bit of self-torture but also a form of escapism. I bought myself a drone and have just been getting to grips using it. It's dead easy to fly a drone but to get a cinematic shot is really challenging. I'm just starting out.''
