To help mark Valentine's Day, the staff at Llandough, Barry and UHW, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers, created a unique movie experience for patients, meaning that no one missed out on celebrating the occasion.

Valentines Rooms were set aside and decorated where a selection of movies was played from the 50s and 60s, many of which were firms favourites among our older generation of patients.

To get into the Valentine's day spirit, a selection of heart theme chocolates were passed around during the 'movie interval' together with fresh strawberries for patients to enjoy.

"It was wonderful to see people going above and beyond to bring Valentines celebrations to patients.

''Some of our older patients spend a lot of time at hospital and we want to make sure that their experience with us is as enjoyable as it can be – this can mean being able to participate in some of the activities that they normally would, whilst in their own homes" said Michelle Fowler, Volunteer Service Manager.

"Well done to everyone for your huge efforts".
