Cardiff and Vale University Health Board who are in charge of Llandough Hospital, Barry and UHW have announced that they will be unable to accept donations of knitted ear savers for their staff.

Many people in the local community have been making masks, scrubs, ear savers and other things to help support the NHS with equipment.

However, the CVUHB have said: ''We really appreciate people offering to knit these mask ear savers for our staff.

''Unfortunately, we won't be able to accept these kind donations but we do appreciate you thinking of our staff at this time.

''We really want everyone to help us by staying home, protecting the NHS and saving lives.

''Thank you.''
