Roadworks to repair gas escapes in three Penarth locations are due to be completed by Friday, August 11. 

Managed by Western Power Distribution, the roadworks on Augusta Road started on August 8 and other works on Raisdale Road and Westbourne Road began on August 9. 

Cardiff road closures on Saturday 

For those planning to drive to Cardiff this weekend, expect to see major road closures as there are three big events in the capital city on Saturday, August 13. 

The Cardiff City Vs Birmingham football game in Leckwith will mean Sloper Road will close from 13:45 until 15:00. 

Two cricket matches at Sophia Gardens, the first at 14:30 and the second at 18:00, will mean Sophia Close will be closed from 16:00 until 22:00. 

Furthermore, a Speedway event at the Principality Stadium, with gates scheduled to open at 15:30 and the show finishing at 20:30, will mean Westgate Street will be closed between 15:00 and 21:30.
