The third Sully Island callout since lockdown took place yesterday and it has now been revealed that four males who had travelled down from Bristol made up the rescued group.

Penarth Nub News reported yesterday that Penarth coastguards and Barry RNLI were tasked with rescuing the group from the Island.

The team made a plea to local residents to respect the rules of lockdown and consider their safety when exercising near the coast.

The Penarth Neighbourhood Policing Team have since revealed that the group that was caught on the island having travelled to the coast for the day.

They said: ''Penarth NPT assisted the Coastguard after four males were cut off by the tide on Sully Island. All four had travelled from Bristol for the day. Appropriate action was taken.''

The rules of lockdown state that exercise should only be taken locally and you should only go outside with your own household.
