Natural Resources Wales has issued a flood warning for Penarth coast as a result of Storm Eunice.

There are also a number of flood warnings for different areas in the Vale of Glamorgan including the tidal area at Llantwit Major, the tidal area at Ogmore Castle, the coast at Aberthaw and the coast at Swanbridge and Barry.

The organisation states: "There is still much uncertainty about the extent of the possible impacts from the storm, but they could be significant. We are monitoring the situation very closely."

Public Health Wales is also urging people to be vigilant in one of the strongest storms experienced for some time in South Wales.

Sarah Jones, consultant in Environmental Public Health for Public Health Wales, said: "We are concerned about Storm Eunice and advise people to take all possible care. Only travel if necessary and stay away from woodlands, the coast, and rivers.

"We are monitoring the situation closely and are concerned about the possibility of significant flooding in many places. Please, take notice of all of the advice being given by different agencies and look after friends and family."
