The devastating Dinas Powys floods happened over a year ago and key preventative work has still not been implemented.

The necessary action was proposed in the Vale of Glamorgan Council's own report, detailing issues such as: removing the redundant bridge by the play area at Murch field; investigating the drainage system along Cardiff Road; reviewing the frequency of maintenance of the drainage system, and to check the drainage system in Eastbrook via CCTV and remove debris.

At the meeting of residents and the Vale, it was reported that none of this work had been done.

Local Plaid community councillors have called on the Vale to give Dinas Powys the protection residents need.

It is shocking that Vale council has done so little since the flooding to reduce the threat to houses.
