Penarth Nub News received reports of a fire yesterday evening by Headlands School on St Augustines Road.

The fire department made the following statement: ''At approximately 6:31 pm on Thursday the 23rd of July, 2020, we received reports of a fire on St Augustines Road, Penarth.

"Crews from Penarth station attended the scene and extinguished the fire.

"The incident concluded at approximately 7:44 pm. The supposed cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate."

A local resident, who would prefer to stay anonymous, said: ''The fire was put out quickly but one of the buildings backing off Headland's was on fire."

UPDATE: A local resident has contacted Nub News to state that the building that was on fire was a neighbouring shed adjacent to Headlands School.
